I sent back my final changes to the editors, after the book was line-edited and quality reviewed. The comments from the editors were very encouraging, and I think the book is more readable, and understandable. So the editing process is now over. I was hoping that I would be through everything by now, and ready to publish, but there are still a few more steps, including cover design, and the actual printing setup. I am still hoping for the book to be published before year-end.
I have had several questions and comments from people interested in specific issues, and inquiring about how to evaluate their situation. This is beyond the scope of my book. And it really is a very individual situation most times. These comments often revealed hurt and anger, and a desire to somehow get back at the company or individuals in management.
Companies today are very careful to avoid issues that could result in lawsuits or regulatory complaints. My book is focused on getting you into the job search and finding a good position. Who would want to go back to a company that terminated you? There are so many other companies, other positions, other career paths, other opportunities.
So you have this opportunity. Make the most of it.
